Consistency in Attitudes
- When there is difference in opinion or where the work demands are not aligned with their basic values, people will show interest to change the nature of assignment, leave the organization or change their basic values in such a way it ansures consistency in their lifestlye.
- individual seek to reconcile divergent attitudes and align their attitude and behaviour so they appear rational and consistent.
- people do seek consistency among their attitudes and between their attitudes and their behaviour.
- they either alter the attitudes pr the behaviour or they develop a rationalization for the discrepancy
Cognitive Dissonance
- Any incompatibility an individual might perceive between two or more attitudes or between behaviour and attitudes.
- if there are consistency, they attempt to reduce it by seeks stable state, which can minimum of dissonancd,
